An internal audit for an Australian Registered Training Organisation (RTO) is a systematic and independent examination of the organisation’s operations, processes, and management systems to assess their effectiveness and compliance with relevant regulations and standards. These audits are conducted by trained and experienced Auditors against one or more of the following:

- Financial Viability Risk Assessment
- Data Provision Requirements
- Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF)
- ESOS Framework, including:
- Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act 2000
- National Code of Practice for Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students 2018
- Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS)
- Education Services for Overseas Students (Registration Charges) Act 1997
